let what comes be the dream of girls
of fairy tale love
of the shining knight on his white horse
the girl with the glowing hair
let me be her
let it not end at
happily ever after
do they marry?
have children?
live in the palace?
i want to know all these things
i want to live the dream
with the first kiss my foot will pop
with the first dance all eyes will be on me
without saying a word
his presence will make me feel beautiful
he will be the boy my parents always dreamed of
the perfect wedding
the children beautiful
the life of bliss
it all seems so far
away
away from the truth
and the reality is harsh
but here i stand
facing the world
picking up one perfectly broken piece at a time.
