if ever silence
could ever benefit
i would wallow
in the sweet embrace of
the sunny sunday afternoon.
the scarlet leaves
of autumn days
the ink black letters
carved upon the parchment
in a word true
as my own
scarlet letters
carved upon my wrist.
re-addressed
return to sender
a blooming
friendship
a sorrow filled
laugh.
oh my, the glass
is empty
the champagne held high
the twinkling holiday
season
the quite ill sought
compliments
from friends you
don't know.
all that is gold
doesn't glitter
all the secrets
of a life
untold
unfold, spill
brimming crimson fluids
run overth
overflowing
do you see the truth?
can you feel the warmth glowing?
mosr canaps dearest?
top off your drink?
top hats, candlesticks
feverish children
hollow laughter rining loud
i see you
do you sense it?
i stare
and wonder
when.
can you look
beneath the black ice
over the frozen pond
and see the girl
trapped beneath?
that is the girl i long to be
flowing hair
pale white flesh
the blue of her lips
slighty off the white
of her torn wedding gown.
the clinking of glasses
toasting of loved ones
the shallowest of complients
the sweetest of the grapes.
memories of times untold
watch it all
watch it spill forth from
my soul.
i'll tell you all.
someday
that's my final goal.
