When your heart turns cold
You wake up
And before you realise it
Day has turned to night.
When your heart turns cold
You move silently
Through the streets
Wondering
Is this all there is?
When your heart turns cold
You have no motivation
Any confidence you have
Is washed away by sorrow
And happiness is just a memory.
When your heart turns cold
You have no belief
Of a better tomorrow
As the anguish grips your heart
You want to be left alone
By yourself in the shadows
But secretly you hope
Someone will come any minute now
To rescue you.
If you don’t know how depression feels,
Just wait until your heart turns cold.
