Mama, by Cutie In A Death Cab Subscribe to rss feed for Cutie In A Death Cab

Mama always says,
"Do as I say, not as I do". Now, what kind of
advice is that?

Mama listens to motivational tapes.
She thinks they do her good. She even hypnotized herself
to stop smoking.
The other day, I visited.
Mama had a cigarette burning in the ash tray.

Mama prays to God every nite.
She said he helps her endure.
Last week Mama called me from the bar. I could almost
comprehend her words.
She just can't deal with the world sometimes.
And now that Daddy's re-married, there's just no hope for
her broken heart.
Sometimes a good drink is the answer.

Mama knows a lot about dating.
After all, she's had her fair share of practice. But this
time she's truely in love.
He's her soulmate, she says.
Mama falls in love quite often.

Mama lives a life that might not
be quite right. But she does have eight useful
words of wisdom:
"Do as I say, not as I do".
