Frozen North

Snow quietly, gently falls on the frozen ground
Each flake's design different but round
Evergreens gather it in their outstretched arms
Piles of white on green is part of their charms

The frozen ground's unblemished white
No disturbence this perfection does blight
The silver moon sends her beam below
To make sparkles in the unblemished snow

Hidden deep in a snow covered cave
Someone sleeps in this snow covered grave
No they are not dead. There is life within
Sleeping soundly with paws under chin

Awakening to the warm rays of the sun
Signaling that a new day has begun
Sleepy eyes now slowly opening wide
Now rising up to greet the outside

Sun now fully lighting the darkened den
Standing, stretching, yawning and then
Bursting forth from the den's small hole
To find some breakfast is his main goal

He is large and white like his frozen home
See him standing full outside his frozen dome
His sharp seeing eyes are yellow brown
And he has one tiny dark spot on his crown

Large paws make imprints in the virgin snow
Walking deliberately and so very slow
This is his home. Here he is alpha wolf king
Liking the cold. Not looking forward to spring
