Going Home
I came to earth 4.5 billion years ago
And I'll be leaving soon
I have about six months or so
Two months after June

I've lived so many lives
That I'll be glad to leave
I've been husbands and also wives
If that you can believe

I am so very weary
I'll be glad to be beamed up
In the ship I will be cheery
With my brethren I will sup

So if sometime I disappear
Do not be dismayed
Just toast to me and drink a beer
And do not be afraid

For my mission here is over
And I am going home
I am rolling in clover
Adieu, adieu, Shalome

When you see me not show up
Remember this little poem
And drink beer from a cup
And know I have gone home

I loved being here in this place
With the funny name
But I have gone back in space
And no one is to blame
