Winter White Christmas, by Lunaria Subscribe to rss feed for Lunaria

Winter White Christmas
Barren ground is blanketed with yellow and red
Gentle wind whispers through grandfather trees
Nature prepares for deep slumber in winter's warm bed
Sleepily asking for all to be quiet please

Silence is sounding all over the land
The sun has dimmed his bright light
No one dares to strike up the band
Till all nature is sleeping tight

Slowly a white downy blanket is laid
For extra warmth through the dark night
Softly a slumbering lullaby is played
Close quietly the door and turn off the light

Nature sleeps and dreams of spring
When all is warm and green
When Lilies bloom and bluebells ring
And all is fresh and clean

Now it's time to celebrate
Bring out the berries and wine
Bring on the pudding of figs and date
Let us sit down and dine

Hang the holly and mistletoe
Put up the evergreen so tall
Light the fireplace, make it glow
Raise your voices one and all

Sing a merry Christmas tune
And sing it loud and clear
The family clan will be here soon
So bring on the chips and beer

Place the presents under the tree
All wrapped and tied with a bow
One for you and you and one for me
And two for Mary and Joe

For when we come together
This precious time every year
We will remember forever
Why we all gathered here

Now take your presents and head for home
Our celebration is now over
Be warm and safe, Oh kiss Jerome
And give this bone to Rover

Now we all settle in our soft beds
All warm and comfy cozy
With dreams of spring dancing in our heads
When all is green and rosy.
