Bounce, by Don't build lies on ice cubes. Subscribe to rss feed for Don't build lies on ice cubes.

I bounced this ball across the room
You haven't bounced it back
I threw it through the open door
Into your line of attack

I bounced this ball into the sky
My eyes turned up above
It went so high before it fell
Crashing down faster than my love

I bounced this ball out of my hand
It skipped across the floor
Rolled graciously towards your feet
And yet you never saw

I bounced this ball against the wall
Outside the office where you sit
You saw it hanging in the air
But didn't dare to catch it

I bounced this ball towards you
With all the force I could
Held your stare so you couldn't ignore
So you would catch it like you should

And then it stopped. It didn't move
Just stayed still between you and me
We stood on opposite sides
I lost out to gravity.

Then one day my door was open
And threw the air my ball came sailing
I swung my head to see your face
With a smile I knew you were waiting

Yet whilst the ball may bounce back and forth
Between us gaining speed
We pretend we're not playing this game
Not knowing where it may lead

So I bounced this ball towards you once
With time it was returned
And now we send it spinning in the air
And my life has been upturned.
