Useless Heart, by *~Mik@y1@~* Subscribe to rss feed for *~Mik@y1@~*

What good is a heart
That exudes much love?
When it can rot with pain,
Make you go insane
With a little push or shove.

It’d be so much easier
To rip it out of your chest.
No more feelings,
No more disgusting mess.

What good is a heart
When all it does is break?
It just shatters on the floor
And you’re left with
Nothing more.

What good is a heart
When it does betray
All you know all,
All you think
Just goes away.

What good is a heart
If you give it
And get nothing back.
Others shove you down
Destroy it without looking back.

What good is a heart
If you can’t control it
No matter what you do.
It goes off on its own
Never comes back you.

What good is a heart?
Yes, it may give life.
But only a life
Filled with strife,
Is no life at all.

Why does a heart
Always have to feel.
It’d be so much better
If I could cast it away,
Get rid of it with no delay.

If it was gone,
I could move on
And forget all the pain,
All the sorrow,
I think it’d be better
To be vain.

To be unfeeling.
How grand that would be.
I could live my life
And truly be free.
I would never have to worry,
Never have to care.
Never have to feel
Like I have to beware.

I could do whatever,
Go wherever my feet take me.
I would never be at risk
To love again
To have it all,
Just to be broken
In no time at all. ©
