The Past Reawakened, by *~Mik@y1@~* Subscribe to rss feed for *~Mik@y1@~*

I didn’t expect to see you.
I had to kill some time.
Then I saw you,
And my pulse began to climb.
My heart started to beat faster.
My hands started to shake.
Old feelings sprang to life.
The butterflies did awake.

I always wondered
What it would be like
To be with you,
To share your life.
I never had the courage
To really flirt with you.
I was self-conscious,
But now I am new.

I didn’t think you’d make me feel
The way I used to.
I thought I’d given up
On ever having you.
I moved on when I left,
Found someone to care.
However, everything returned,
When I saw you standing there.

Now I am where I used to be;
Sitting, staring, loving you.
Wishing you’ll come talk to me,
And say that you like me too.
I often think about
Where we’d be if I met you before.
If I would have been brave,
Showed you I did adore.

My feelings have resurfaced.
I am a new me.
Now I’m making a move;
I’m curious to see what could be.
Maybe I could light
The spark between me and you.
Maybe I could find
A strong connection between us two.

A new confidence I have found.
Perhaps you sense it too.
I truly feel something
I wonder if my feelings match you.
I’m gonna pursue this
Until I leave this place.
This second chance,
I won’t neglect to chase.

The past has reawakened
Now that I saw you here.
I’m back with newfound determination
To the end I will persevere.
I won’t give up
Until I have no doubt
That you and I weren’t meant to be
And the connection, I was wrong about. ©
