Girl with the Sad eyes , by Laura Glossop Subscribe to rss feed for Laura Glossop

Look at the girl with the sad eyes

she tries to smile but inside the pain lies

each day she laughs then at night lays down to cry

she struggles everyday with the suffering inside

a fallen angel her wings fail to fly

when all she is wanting is to soar so high

but now deep in the ground is where the girl lies

He promised her roses
He promised her hugs
He promised her the joy only felt in heaven above
He promised her diamonds and all the love he could give
Then when it came down to it he ran and he hid

Alone in her room her heart ached so bad

she tried to be strong and pretended to be glad

but inside the fake smile the pain ached away

wondering whether she would see him again

she clutched her pillow her eyes full of tears

blinded for a moment until she thought she heard him near

it wasn't him after all only a mouse

she slipped back into sadness and didn't leave her house

she cried to herself then she asked god why

why did he tell her he loved her

it cannot have been all lies

pain hit her again like a slap in the face

this all began with him needing space

now however he was gone

and her fears were never wrong

he never returned and she never left her house

she slipped back into sadness and pined for her spouse

she fell into such heartache she lay down to die

inside her tears flowed her spirit left and she headed for
the sky

her body in peace and no longer in pain

she looked up and saw god and realised nothing was the same

dear god why did i have to die

i loved him so much that isn't a lie

i thought now the pain would go but my heart still aches

so God smiled softly and he patted her head

you loved him in life and you shall still love him in death
