If the roles we play were reversed
What would you say to me
Would you tell me how you watch me pass
How I am everything you see

If the shoe was on the other foot
Would you take my hand tonight
Would you pull me into a soft embrace
And hold me throughout the night

If you were the voice within my mind
What would you make me hear
Would you make it so I couldn’t last a day
Without you being near

If I turned the table round to you
What card would be in your hand
The joker laughing foolishly
Or the king throughout the land

If I sat down and you stood up
Would you look down from above
Or would you lift me from my seat
Standing for an equal love

If it were you who sung the harmony
Would you sing it in blissful tune
Would you serenade me with your voice
Under the stars and moon

If I waited patiently
Would you come forward on your own
Or would I wait forever
Leaving my thoughts unknown

This is a cool poem. Nice idea and nice rhyming.
