The Only Exception (Poem), by YourEyesMyWords Subscribe to rss feed for YourEyesMyWords

Once a small height,
where everything was only such a fright.
I was afraid of tomorrow,
as my mother cried tears of sorrow.

My father screamed into the air,
and through out some names without a care.
And after that, my face had leaked,
my heart then hid and only would have peaked.

I do not trust anyone,
because all lovers will leave you alone.
And as of that day on and further,
I had promised to myself i would never love any other.

But you are,
The
   Only
       Exception
to my heart...
i feel like nothing could tear this apart.
So perfect and means everything,
yet I still don't believe in happy endings.

You are the one,
that has that special power...
You can make me laugh,
and make me so happy I could die.
You can make me depressed,
and make me so sad that all i could do is cry.

You somehow seem to care,
you are not like the other guys I see everywhere
You say I'm beautiful,
and look at me with that one look that makes me feel
sinful.

I feel like I'm eating the apple
from the garden of Eden.
You kiss me lightly,
just like Judas did to his friend.

I still don't believe in love,
yet somehow I can be myself.
Every other guy didn't treat me like this,
they just left my heart on a broken shelf.

Yet I just trust you,
with my heart.
Yet you still don't know
about my rough start.

You don't know my secrets,
you don't know my deepest regrets.
and if you did
you probably wouldn't love me...

But somehow,
you prove me wrong.
As I trust you with a heart on my sleeve,
you cradle me home as my mind is long gone.

I do not trust anyone,
because all lovers will leave you alone.
And as of that day on and further,
I had promised to myself i would never love any other.
But you...
          you...
                you...

Are
   The
      Only
          Exception...

Now,
for once,
I'm believing in love...
once again...

                                               I LOVE YOU
