Wait Forever, by Don't build lies on ice cubes. Subscribe to rss feed for Don't build lies on ice cubes.

I would wait forever if you asked me
But you shouldn't ask
Oh don't you dare
I would wait forever if you asked me
But you might not be there

I would sit upon the beach
And I'd stare up to the stars
I'd wait there so silently
Waiting for the promised time that's ours.

I would fly across the ocean
Give it all up and go blind
Walk upon soil that is foreign to my foot
Just for the happiness with you I hope to find

I would wait sat next to the phone
Straining my ears to hear it ring
I would sit praying for you to come home
And as for my life, I would miss everything

I would miss holding the hand of my other
I wouldnt have someone to sleep next to at night
I would cry on my own, and laugh with no other
Whilst I waited for you to appear in my sight

Oh love, I would wait forever if you asked me
But to ask me is unfair
I cannot live on hopeful dreams
On a promise that one day you might be there

You can try as hard as you need to
I beg you keep trying to find your way here
But do not expect me to be sat alone waiting
Until the day comes when you will be near

For I cannot wait patiently
I cannot silence my own tongue
I cannot watch the years slip away
Whilst I wait for my only one.

So love, yes to answer your question of course I would wait
For I love you, pure and true.
But you shouldnt ask me to wait silently alone on dreams
For I would never ask that of you.
