A Year

Written For: Elizabeth Marie Benser

By: Tyler Jon Warnecke

A year goes by so fast,
but our love will forever last.

New Year's Day, St. Valentine's Day, and Easter,
are a few of the holidays we celebrate during the year.
Days of new beginnings, love, and resurrection.

April Fool's Day, Mother's Day, and May 22nd,
are some more. Times for jokes, mothers, and
a birthday for a girl so special and dear.

Memorial Day, Father's Day, and the Fourth of July,
are to honor those who have served, fathers, and our
freedom.

August 3rd, September 11th, and September 25th,
are the days of a birthday for a boy who loves a girl,
to remember the lives lost to a tragic terrorist attack,
and the day we fell in love, forever it'll last.

October 3rd 2009, Halloween, and Thanksgiving,
are when our lips first touched,
goblins and ghouls take to the streets
and when we give thanks with a big feast.

Christmas and New Year's Eve
are for the birth of Jesus Christ,
and the end of a year, good or bad.

A year may come and go,
but our love is here to stay, forever it will.
