Faces In The Dark , by Darren Oxton Subscribe to rss feed for Darren Oxton

Candy looking lights, of green, red and blue,
Glisten amidst the dull, aching autumn night,
Cold hands rub together, fingers all blue,
Leaves fall to the ground, save for but a few,
Scary faces in the dark, serve to give fright,
Orange orbs of candle light, sneering too,

As folk of young and old, sit by the fire,
An elder tells a fable from days gone past,
With baited breath they wait, never to tire,
Gasps of horror cut the air, like barbed wire,
But those that come, enjoy the night, what a blast!
As witching hour strikes, people retire,

Night of All-Hallows coming to an end,
Costumes packed away again, until next year,
Vampires, ghosts and goblins, we all pretend,
Goodbye Halloween, night of fun and fear.
