Shine on me sun, for I feel dark;
Lend me this chance to be bright & contribute my mark.
Raise me up beside a star, from this eternal low;
So I can accomplish success and happiness before my time to
go.
Allow me red, yellow, & orange in place of solely the blue
my heart sees;
Its gentle beating has woken me to find that life is mine to
seize.
Let it pass without optimism & our dreams only continue to
tease;
Wake me up from this numbing coma; release me from this
disease.
Shivering in terror, I swallow my fear;
A surge of courage fills my bloodstream, followed by tears.
Horrid screams in my head had once made me want an early
end;
Now destiny has taken effect & chosen my soul to mend.
So shine on me sun, on this day of great gain;
Hurt and sorrow overpowered by the freedom to life, as
opposed to more pain.

Fascinatin'! Shows one that it is mental courage that's needed to overcome, fright, trauma and depression and certainly not bravado. Also tells us that throughout life, there are bound to be pitfalls, however to jump outta them is what matters. The few bruises we pick up during life's broad and sometimes treacherous path, only help us to understand the suffering of others all the better. Keep up the good work. Would appreciate your comments on some of my stuff. Luv Chuck Shorter.
