PAIN, by karen straker Subscribe to rss feed for karen straker

HOW CAN I GO ON WITH SO MUCH PAIN INSIDE,
I TRUSTED YOU , BUT YOU TOOK ME FOR A RIDE,
I GAVE YOU THE KEYS TO MY SOUL,
GIVING UP MANY THINGS NEW AND OLD,

I WAS HEAD OVER HEELS ABOUT YOU,
THOUGHT I COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU,
YOU MADE ME FEEL ALIVE AGAIN,
YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE MY FRIEND,

BUT FRIENDS DON'T BREAK YOUR HEART,
FRIENDS DON'T TEAR YOUR SOUL APART
OR TREAT YOU SO UNKIND,
LIKE YOU WERE NOTHING... THEY LEFT BEHIND,

HOW CAN YOU SAY YOU CARE,
AND THEN LEAVE ME STANDING THERE,
TO FACE THE COLD, WIND AND RAIN,
WITH ONLY ADDITIONAL HURT AND PAIN,

YOU LEFT ME FEELING SO CONFUSED ,
YOU LEFT ME FEELING HURT AND USED,
YOU LIFTED ME ONLY TO PULL ME BACK DOWN,
AND BURY ME SO MUCH FURTHER IN THE GROUND,

NOW MY MIND WON'T STOP IT'S PACING,
MY SOUL KEEPS ON EMBRACING,
THE TOUCH OF YOUR LOVE MAKING,

YOU ARE LIKE AN ANGEL WITH DEVIL EYES,
THE KIND THAT CAN HYPNOTIZE,
LEAVING ME WONDERING WHAT I HAD MISSED,
BUT THEN YOU BETRAYED ME WITH A KISS.
