I dream upon a weary night..

I dream upon a weary night I see a rather wondrous sight A horse of gold and jewels inlaid Alas it soon begins to fade. A castle comes upon me then At gates there stand some fighting men I ask about the horse I’d seen ‘A horse of God’s it must have been’ I wander down along a river It’s sunlight ebbing makes me quiver And then across the bank, just there I come across a speaking hare. It hopped and jumped and raised it’s paw ‘I see you the saw the horse I saw! A horse of Gods it is indeed Indeed a rather special breed No man may cross to Gods domains Where this horses wonder reigns Unless! No greed is seen within A golden horse will see this sin ‘ The hare turns tail and runs away And there I am alone to stay In what now is an autumn sky Above a forest, way up high. I sat and soon there came The horse! The sun glint on it’s gold a flame I stroke his emerald mane and tail It’s hooves a shimmering opal pale I glance into the horses eyes And wonder where’s and how’s and why’s I come to realise as I stare That of gold and gems I little care I awake and feel a sense of loss I wonder, in the dream , amongst the moss Would the golden horse have let me play In Gods kingdoms , far away?
