The Balance, by amroth Subscribe to rss feed for amroth

I have two hands.
Each is weighted equally,
One life, one death.
It’s a balance that is apart of who we are.
The balance swings back and forth,
Only one will rise

Back and forth,
Higher and higher,
Lower and lower,
Only one will rise,

Heaven and hell take their wagers.
Life’s a game…
Pulling at my soul, ripping my soul, consuming my soul,
Only I have the final say
Only one will rise.

The blood dribbles off the edge of the knife
Heaven and hell take their wagers,
Life’s a game…
My flesh ripping and tearing becoming nothing.
Only I have the will
Only one will rise

I lay my head back,
My eyes roll back into my head.
Rapid Eye Movement no more,
Take breathe no more,
Love no more,
Feel no more,
Hate all over again,
Only one will rise.

Into the light
Into the fires
Into bliss
Into despair
Into pleasure
Into pain
Which will rise?
Heaven and hell take their wagers
Only one will rise

What if I have a choice?
The light or the fire.
The bliss or despair.
The pleasure or the pain.
I take my wager.
Only one will rise.

Vive ut viveas
Lux lucis super atrua
Carpe diem
One is rising.

Into the fires,
Into the void,
Into the depth that none can avoid,
Into the adventure that no one can conquer ,
Into death,
I have risen.
