I'm Still in the Contour, by Lillian Subscribe to rss feed for Lillian

Finally, I saw it.
Those seven black numbers
On the bright back drop,
as the theme did play.

I felt nothing but shock
before it wasn't your voice I heard.
My body went limp,
and I was able to speak.

But suddenly,
you wanted me.
When you spoke in the background,
my heart sunk at the implication.

Because I really don't love you.
I did a long time ago.
If only we could be friends,
like back during December.

Three beeps sounded the end,
and I dumbfoundedly stared into space.
I was angrier than hell at you
for thinking you could call my number.

Next my heart dropped,
knowing I'm just an easy second-best.
Afterwards, I missed you again,
as thoughts of your hands filled my mind.

Secretly, I miss you.
I want to talk again,
to share my innocence with you.
However, my heart knows better.

And while we're not speaking.
While months turn into years...
You can drive around and know,
I'm still in the Contour.

Right by your side.
