The Hotel

Awakening this morning from a sleep so sound

Shaking my head I had a look around

Not recognizing the room I was in

I wondered if I had committed a sin

The sheets were satin and half on the floor

One pillow was over by the far door

There were no blankets that I could see

On the bedside table lay a hotel key

I picked up the key and read what it said

Hotel Carver, Room 222, was what I read

How did I get here and who was with me

I looked for the bathroom for I had to wee

I found my clothes hung over the chair

After brushing my teeth I combed my hair

Reaching the door I opened it wide

Straightened my shoulders, I've nothing to hide

Walked down the long hall and into the lobby

I ran smack into a uniformed bobby

'Why hello miss', he said unto me

I was looking all night and here's where you be

Come along now I'm taking you home

It's nights like last you shouldn't roam

It was a full moon you know up in the sky

And then you were missing. I guess that's why

You forgot to take your pills last night

You gave us all a terrible fright

When you went wandering out into the night

We thought some poor bloak you might bite

I looked at him and he had a big smile

He was kidding with me all the while

Nevertheless when the moon is high in the sky

I'm not leaving the house 'til morning is nigh
