You and I, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

I felt like an idiot,
Wow, the things you do for love,
My vision looked like a 60's disco,
With rainbow clouds above,
I guess it makes me stupid,
To get high just to be with you,
But it's only now you've realised,
The truth is I like you,

"Is there something you need to say to me?"
You asked as we sat on your bed,
I tried to concentrate on words,
But there was candyfloss in my head,
It was too difficult for me to reply,
Almost impossible to do,
That's when you said slowly,
"Well I like you too",

"We're not leaving 'til you respond",
That's what you said to me,
I realised that out of my mind,
Wasn't how I wanted it to be,
"How could you not know?" I asked,
As we walked out to your car,
"I guess it makes me an idiot,
By being the last to know by far",

We sat parked on my street,
In silence staring ahead,
But I knew it wasn't right,
Another time instead,
I think that you must've sensed it,
For you softly said goodbye,
My head is blurred but it occurred,
Time for you and I.

I really like the rhyme scheme and the quirky way you wrote this poem!!

your poetry is by far the best I've ever read. It's a pity you don't have a book out...I would buy it.
