Morning Darkness

By Matthew Grode •
The impeding daylight collects my thoughts like an endless book,
The morning sunlight is brighter than the darkest nights yet to encounter,
As I walk the line down this lonely road,
My mind guickly travel to last nights misconceptions,
They come to me like a scatter plot with no direction,
In my mind they have no bearing,
For they are gone like the passing breeze,
So I let them go like my last few footsteps,
For I must walk forward with no reflection,
There is no time for one last repentance,
I walk on forward as they stay behind,
My soul isn't ready to push rewind,
The road is clear and I have no map,
And I'd forget the the way if I turned back,
So I walk on forward to the blinding light,
I must keep walking till I find the night
