there is a good reason
as to why i'm still in love
the time has worn me thin
now i fit just like a glove
i'm just a little used
but i've always found a way
to tangle up the pieces
my edges seem to fray
maybe too forgiving
but with the best intention
let me be your muse
love's God's best invention
there's nothing more to tell you
perhaps you know too well
i've memorized your eyes
captivated by your smell
there is a way you smile
that makes things seem so small
you're all that's left of life
to catch me when i fall
when i least expect it
the phone begins to ring
without a moment's hesitation
i forgive everything
you haunt me in my dreams
so that i don't forget
the way you laugh at old times
teaches me not to regret
you're living in my past
and that past a part of me
a bit of something to it
that only you can see
and sure, i really miss you
and sure, i want to grieve
but there's a way you never
wear your heart on your sleeve
i could without much evidence
but you always really knew
there's no option for me
but to keep on loving you
yeah, they might just think
that there's nothing more to say
there are reasons in my life
why i can't just walk away
i can't erase my feelings
i can't hide from the truth
a little something extra
granted with our youth
while my heart's still beating
while my breath sighs above
there will always be a reason
as to why i'm still in love
