The Mask, by Subscribe to rss feed for

I've never shown my face to you

Why would I want to?

You might laugh at me

You might not see

Really underneath it all I'm a good person

I'm just so scared to show you who I am

I try to speak but the wrong words come out and you don't
understand

I might get hurt if I take off my mask

So why would I want to?

It's getting so heavy

This mask I wear it

It's getting harder and harder to bear it

I really want to take it off

I really want to let you see me

But you have to understand

You're holding my heart in your hand

If you drop it

I'll never take the mask off again

So here's my face

What do you think?

Are the tears too personal and intimidating?

This is my face

What I truly am

Now show me yours
