The Sorrow Of Children, by Dark Neko Subscribe to rss feed for Dark Neko

A single parent has to struggle everyday,
They have to battle on through the endless night,
They would look at their kid and say,
“I’ll love them the more they’re in my sight”
But then when the kid grows the love changes,
To adoration, pride, and finally isolation,
And both of them are strangers,
Lost unable to speak because of hesitation,
The arguments begin,
And you drift further apart,
The sorrow sets in,
As you break each other’s heart,
A single parent battles on,
Retaining a love so deep,
That the daughter or the son,
Would never think unreliable or cheap,
But then the child leaves,
No matter how old they are it still hurts too much,
To let them go into a world of war and thieves,
And so that you have nobody to clutch,
There is no one left for you to love then,
When your kid has left you alone,
And you’re certain you’ll never see them again,
It means you must suffer the pain, all on your own,
Every single parent, human or other,
Knows what this feels like,
To miss their kid, cub, child or even their brother,
To miss, Kate, Brian, Amy or Mike,
A single parent knows the sorrow,
Of having a child on your own,
Knowing that they’ll be gone tomorrow,
And you’ll be left once again alone.
