Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
I’d love to be innocent again
Like back when I was ten

But instead you’ll find me
Lost in the whirlwind
Of modern living
Where I definitely have sinned

After puberty
Something must have got in us
We gradually faded from gold
As we became sinners

But maybe if we tried to change...
Who am I kidding
Me without drama would be way too strange
I'm not changing a thing

So as dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

This poem was inspired by Robert Frost, If you’ve ever
watched the film “Outsiders” then you’ll know why I
wrote it. I don’t care how thuggish you are that ending
will bring a tear to your eye. The poems about how you start
off innocent as a child then change for the worse
