Faces, by longingchainsme Subscribe to rss feed for longingchainsme

A wise friend said, double the population
Everyone has two sides to them
What if you are schizophrenic
What if you have thirty
What if you are like me
Can't understand which face you want to choose
One hand you aim to please
You sell yourself short
Making sure no one
Feels lower than you always are
Then the other face you hide
You love to tell the truth
But aiming to please is hard
When the truth hurts
Another face you hide within,
The face of certain doubt
You know you can't do better
So you give up completely

The liar, friend, and mother
You carry all these too
The sinner, saint, and child
You wish could all just break through
You want to tell the world
Just how you feel inside
With so many faces
Its so hard to hide
You struggle each day
To find a simple answer
A sanctuary, one face
A cure to you, a cancer
