A stopped clock can be right, but what if…

Warning this is a highly oppinionated piece that trashes just about all of the political parties, a note though, this essay refers to the politicians of the parties, not so much the people who support the parties. Enjoy! Someone once said, “Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.” A truly philosophical statement, it makes sense that even if someone is completely devoid of knowledge and talent: they will have at least one valuable contribution to humanity even if only by accident. Of course by accident, I mean a mistake that removes them from the gene pool. This gives rise to another philosophical question: what if someone isn’t a “stopped clock”, but rather is a clock that is off by five hours, seventeen minutes, and twenty-three seconds, or some other arbitrary amount of time. Most people would agree with the meaning of the first statement, that everyone is correct at least once, and they would argue that because so many people agree with them they must be right. Of course, they fail to take into account that countless times over the course of history it has been shown that the masses are invariably wrong, and that in large numbers people are incredibly stupid. It is because of the masses, standing in the way of the oncoming pendulum, that the clock of human progress often comes to a screeching halt. I see the world in a different light. In my world, unfortunately, there are few stopped clocks, but there is a plethora of inaccurate clocks. The main advantage of my view of the world is that because most people are idiots I have a bountiful supply of insults that those I dislike can‘t hope to understand. This leads me to the group that draws the majority of my contempt, the government. Now this may come as a shock, but the government actually uses a lot of my ideas, they even have a special term for it, politics. While their emasculated version of my methods may seem fun, I have a better way. Instead of calling those who disagree with me idiots, I go a step further and call all politicians and most of those who disagree with me, incompetent. In doing so I’ve realized what few others have, that all of the different parties are worthless. When you think about it, the Republicans have a monopoly on rule by fools, Democrats, disappointingly devoid of any semblance of intelligence, and Independents, they’re the little jesters, amusing but not all that bright. Our country’s leadership is composed of the inept, the ignorant, and the clocks that read 2:17:23 PM at 9 o’clock in the morning. My fellow citizens love it.

intresting point of view, and original analogy (stopped/inaccurate clock)i think that it is unfair to call the masses 'idiots', as well as the goverment. although i agree the goverment do not always seem to act in our best intrests, we are all too often ignorant of info the goverment decides to keep from the public so we can never really make a fair judgement....
