Me and I, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

"Ah I see", I said to me,
"I don't", said me to I,
"I don't understand what you're trying to say,
All your words are lies",

"I do not lie!" said I to me,
"Why would I lie to you?"
"I don't know" said me to I,
"But that is what you do",

"I am strong" said I to me,
"On me you can rely",
"Rely on you?!" said me to I,
"That I can deny",

"Well!" said I, "I disagree,
With all you have to say to me,
I am superior in every way,
So why should I listen to what you say?"

"Well!" said me, "I comply,
You seem much more confident than I,
But I see all the things you hide,
Hidden in the depths of the girl inside",

"I'm so sorry" said I to me,
"If only we listened once in a while",

"I'm sorry too" said me to I,
"Then maybe we'd have less tears to cry".

Get it? It's a conversation between the inner-child and the
outer-person. Between the way I appear to others and the
hidden depths of my personality. I never listen to the
quite thoughts in the back of my mind, I lie to myself to
make everything seem alright. But maybe, just maybe, if I
learned to tune into that voice then I would caus myself so
much misery.
