A Different Man, by a rose by any otha name Subscribe to rss feed for a rose by any otha name

I thought you were different but I must have been blind.
You told me you loved me with images of her face in your
mind.
You lied time and time again,
You said you didn’t love her,
You said it once,
Then you said it twice.
I wish I had seen earlier,
That you would have rather been with her,
I wish I had seen earlier,
That you really loved her instead of me.
You said you could never hurt me,
That you didn’t want to be another on my list,
Of boys who had done me wrong.
You told tales and played me,
Instead for a fool,
I am heartbroken again,
But still I remain strong.
I will survive,
Cause you won’t be the last one to rule as king in my
life.
I hope you and your new queen are happy,
I am done with my tears,
Now I just feel sorry for you,
You didn’t see the good thing you had,
But it’s alright,
Cause she’ll never be as good as me,
She’ll never be as kind, as sweet, as understanding as
me.
She won’t be as compassionate as I was when you told, me
about your hopes and dreams.
She won’t care for you like I did,
How can she?
You could never compare her to me.
She just wants you to be an accessory,
So she can show you off.
But you are too blinded by her supposed beauty,
To be able to see the things that is obvious to my eyes.
Sadly, when you see the truth it will be too late,
For I will be gone and far from your life.

It goes deep to the heart with pain and regret, but it finds its power and strength through realizing she's better than that.
