Shatter, by Danielle Lewis Subscribe to rss feed for <font color=Danielle Lewis">

When you first looked into my eyes I saw hope,
The unopened letter arriving from that special someone i
never knew,
You made me light up like stars in the night sky,
Shimmering so brightly that no light could overpower me.

When you first whispered into my longing ears I heard
faith,
The confidence in you that I could never see before,
You believed in me when I couldn't even believe in myself,
Believing the most unbelievable things no one else thought
true.

When you first held me close your heartbeat sang to me,
The consistent rhythm that kept me going, the timeless song
I always yearn to hear, You gave my life a song to dance to,
even when the music died inside me, You gave me life.

When you first kissed my cheek I dreamed of forever,
The time that I forever wished would be shared with you,
You gave me eternity, a timeless tango forever containing
us,
and when time stopped going on you were there for me.

When you first danced with me I felt life,
The one minute that determined my fate, my kismet,
I'd never taken a breath before, and you revived me,
You kept me alive when there was no hope for anyone.

Now when I look into your eyes, I see a fire
It burns me from the inside out,
engulfing me in a hate so strong,
So strong that the mightiest ocean could not set me free.

Now when I hear you whisper in my ears, I hear denial,
The confidence you once had in me is forever lost,
You say I'm worthless, and I believed you,
Telling me the most unforgivable things.

Now when you hold me close I fear for life,
The rhythm had turned violent as your hatred grows
stronger,
I yearn desperatly to creep away, to find shelter from your
storm, Your song is killing me, in an evil stillness.

Now when you kiss my cheek, I feel death slithering down my
spine, your kiss is the kiss of death, churning my
stomache,
I feel the cold heat that is you despisal,
You gave me no time to go on.

When you dance with me now, I feel fragile,
Straying on the edge of your domain,
Running forever from your eternal hunt of me,
I am the mirror of your denial and hatred,
and you shall make me SHATTER

You have a lovely way of projecting your thoughts. Most talented one!

Starts as typical "you are my all" poem, then twists beautifully to the darker emotions. Very well written, I enjoyed this.
