Elaine

and in she
stepped.
looked at the bed,
a tarnished face
peeked out at her,
in a pained,
tarnished way.
she smiles and booms,
good morning dear,
i'm Elaine.
down she sets the girls
breakfast
cold runny
scrambled eggs
and
hard gross bacon
fluffs her pillows,
open the blinds,
the girl curls up
the light burns.
she picks at the bacon,
and studies Eliane.
she has seen her somewhere,
but she doesnt remember
Elaine is nattering,
about absolutely nothing,
and the nosering girl,
knows she knows her,
and the doctor,
and the
bus driver.
but for teh life of her
can not remember.
Eliane goes on,
trusting this silent girl
tells her of how,
they faked a murder,
to get away from
her old husband.
And how now he is nothing good,
like she thought,
he is a bus driver
and she is lucky
she says,
to have left the bad part of town,
and come to the good.
But the nosering girl,
never sees people twice,
so Sam will never know,
of how his love,
is in the county
hospital.

then in walks a man,
and he chats to her,
but she doens't recognize him,
not even a little,
he looks at her,
and she smiles,
he shakes his head,
and exits,
as the doctor peeks in.
