my voice is louder than a gunshot, by john bowen Subscribe to rss feed for john bowen

My voice is a gift that should be cherished
even if it's NOT the loudest voice in the room.
You can hear my voice but you can't hear my heart cracking
in side of me
I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY
My Heart is a sidewalk because people keep stepping on it &
stepping on it.
Trust is the key and like I've always said, you can't trust
anybody that keeps stepping on you.
I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY
I loved you, I loved your heart
But yet you didn’t love mine
I didn’t take advantage of your heart, yet you took
advantage of mine -----
I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY
My mom left me like no other
At that moment, my heart shattered like a phone screen.
She left me over a drug ---- I guess it was more powerful
than me
She did her time, she learned her lesson
She went to jail ---- faced demons and fears
She wrote letters that brought me to tears
But she came home and took care of her responsibilities
and today I know my mom does loves me
I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY
My Voice is something that falls into pieces just like ice
melts in a cup.
Just because my voice is not the loudest ITS BEING HEARD .
Don't BETRAY me because I'm not the loudest
TREAT ME WITH DIGNITY
My VOICE IS LOUDER THAN A GUNSHOT PA - POW
