WHEN WE ARE FORCED, by Faith Edoja
|
I ate the food but i didn't savor the taste,
i ate it just because i had to.
I danced to the rytheme of the gong but not with delight, i
danced to fulfill my part in this sacred ballet.
I sang the song but not with passion,i sang for my voice to
be heard among the choir.
I ran the race but not with focus,i ran so that i too might
be seen on the tracks too.
I loved yes,but not with my mind, body and soul,i loved just
because of pressure.
I can never do it right
my light can never shine bright
you can never do it right,
we can never do it right when we are forced to do so. |
