Toilet Paper, by Shauna DesJardins Subscribe to rss feed for Shauna DesJardins

People are like toilet paper.
Now before you stop reading,
Bare with me a minute.
Toilet paper is pure and clean,
When it first comes out of the package.
There's all different shapes & sizes
Some are rough some are soft.
They each have their own layers.
Some may be dented,
Some may be ripped,
But I promise you, they do exist.
Some stay in packages,
And never get used.
Some well, we all know what its for.
They all have their core.
Occasionally they'll give up and
unravel.
But most the time,
They'll fight to the bitter end.
Hold together as long as they can
Each layer a shield to guard the next.
There are kinds we like and kinds we don't.
Now maybe you'll see why I think,
That toilet paper and people,
Are not far apart.
