***THE LONGEST GOODBYE***

By chicken scratch love

My monsters had blossomed Through the years BEFORE us My heart, nothing less Than a demonic octopus Grasping and flailing Vacuuming feed Navigational instruments Controlling my needs While others felt threatened You'd set out to save me Pulling for my recovery While carrying our baby I dabbled in the cause Getting well; couldn't manage Caught in constant acts Of unraveling the bandage You remained by my side Like a determined exorcist Demons flying by As they exited out of this So here I am! The REAL "me" You seemed so disappointed We'd worked so hard at getting me well And now I'm feeling avoided Expending your love on one sole purpose Seemed to callus your heart But I still trudge forward everyday In hopes of a brand new start You've made a man out of me I'm still in love with you And we may always be together But sometimes this feels Unfortunately, Like the longest goodbye ever
