Don't Forget, by Courtney Subscribe to rss feed for Courtney

Sometimes,
I just want to get away.
Leave you and hide,
Go to my secret place.
Think of that time,
When it was so damn great.
To remember my life,
Before this damnationed fate.
Things so true,
So pure in their essence.
Innocence was my curse,
The cross some choose to bear.
Knowledge of nothing unknown,
Like empty pockets of myself.
Slowly piecing together,
Binding to one another.
Day by day I see it,
The new things I learned.
No longer holding me back,
I'm accepting the place I've earned.
The coldest circle I feel,
Freezing to the bone.
Denying my Lord has cost,
This price has aged me so.
With wisdom in my mind,
I do warn of the tax.
Listen to your elders,
My child,
Learn from my mistakes.
Remember your place,
Don't think it's way up high.
Go ahead and try for the climb,
Only when you reach it,
Will you fall back to these arms of mine.
Slow it down child,
Revel in your innocence.
Let me hold you close,
To teach you of my regrets.
I'm singing this song,
That you shall soon forget.
