Kites, by LawlessBambi Subscribe to rss feed for LawlessBambi

So you'd like to defend the law, eh?
Yes, my mother told me I could.
And she told me I would be good.

Ha-ha the quote un quote friends sneer.
'Go a fly a kite, my dear'

Alas the dear agreed...
To run with the pack is to diminish her fear.

But now I want to perform
I want to make music.
The sound is so beautiful.

ADGC, vibrato and more,
I can master it all!

All too familiar her pack's
disapproval grew tall.

Ah, go fly a kite,
and don't be silly my dear.
Your made to run with us.
"Plus your light and fast and mostly bright"
"It is time to win, not time to play."

Ridiculous they say.
Go fly a kite they say.
I am not right, so go fly a kite.

They say what they say
so go fly a kite.

Stop for a moment,
and ask yourself.

Look inside
and ask, have you ever flown a kite?
Soaring in the sky,
it skids across the clouds.

It rides the gusts of the seasonable winds.

A delicate balance
of vigor,
and effortless grace.

Its a joy in the sky,
an art for your eye.

Flying where it pleases,
tickles and teases.

Bursts of color hanging off the line,
reaching and reaching
to the divine.

So say go fly a kite one last time.
For as usual, the pleasure is mine.
