Blade of Grass , by Vera Espiritu Subscribe to rss feed for Vera Espiritu

I think I finally realized what my downfall is
My harmatia, my fatal flaw
I think it's that I think to much
I see beyond what I should
For example, let's say
I'll think about a blade of grass
As petty and minute as it is
Well, that blade of grass has its own universe
It's own world where organisms are living
And what if, what if we are just living
On the blade of grass of another's world
And I wouldn't doubt that we aren't
And everything we do is so insignificant
Because if we live on a blade of grass
We ourselves are insignificant
So anything we do holds no substance
And we strive in life to become doctors and lawyers
Unaware of the fact that it doesn't even matter
Because our universe is the chemical
Reaction of photosynthesis
And our super nova will happen
The day some one decides to buy a lawn mower
