Battle Scars, by my_darkest_dayss Subscribe to rss feed for my_darkest_dayss

These battle scars I wear
Each day I weep because of them
Wishing they would not share
With the rest of the world just what I've been through

They show my weakness, they show my pain
They show just what happensĀ
When tears from my eyes start to rain

Will they die? Will they fade?
Or will they stay on my arm
Littering it for another day?

These battle scars bring me tears
They bring me pain
They challenge all my fears
And add a new lot to the collection

When will this end?
This stormy adventure
The day I have to say goodbye to you, my friend

We will all surely die
But the way we will end
No one knows how we will or why

When the time comes it better be for the good
Not from suicide, murder, stupidity
But from old age when I have stood all I could

These battle scars let them not kill me
Let them be a reminder of the battle I fought
And show me a future I dream to see.
