A Dream, by Megan Sandmann
|
A young couple together at last
A couple far too young to know any better
A baby comes along, a little boy, their pride and joy
A little girl a couple years later, she looks so much like
her daddy
A young father deployed, a young mother with their third
baby on the way
A knock at the door, a man in uniform, tears streaming down
a young widows face
A little girl in the womb, never able to meet the man she
would call "Daddy"
A little boy who called him "Dad" saluting his headstone
A young mother left alone, three children, a flag, his dog
tags around her neck, right over her heart
A memory
A dream... as she wakes up crying knowing he's right beside
her and never leaving |
