MY DUTIFUL MOTHER, by Radha
|
As I set my first foot in school
My classmates pounced treating me like a fool
I felt breathless but I kept my cool
Whats your mom asked one with an irritating frown
"Homemaker",I said with a hesitating tone
"Ha ha ha mine is a doctor", said one
"And mine is an engineer", said the next one
An architect, a teacher, a banker followed the others
Making me bow my face in shame
Years later when I tasted name and fame
I recollected the same and thanked my mother
For being at my service all the time
For me sheis a doctor with a healing touch
An engineer who moulded my confidence
An architect who built my career
A teacher who taught me lessons to inspire
And a banker who made my life safe and secure
Mom you are a women who made home your office
And family your career
