Turtle

See if you can tell, who or what I am
It’s a guessing game so try I know you can

I live on both the water
And upon the land

And when I’m at the ocean
I lay my eggs in sand

I can be a painter
Boxer or a snapper

And though I live alone
I couldn’t be much happier

I am very slow
To catch me is no chore

And if you watch me for to long
I’m really quite a bore

Upon my back I carry
My house that I live in

And when I race the hare
I always seem to win

I can be a herbivore
This means that I eat plants

And though I have four legs
Somehow I just can’t dance

So if you think you know my name
Then shout it out real loud
And make your mother smile
And feel so very proud.
