Exit 720, by Fezick Subscribe to rss feed for Fezick

mistakes I have made
exits missed, miles passed
wasted
find what thought closer moves farther away

My exit it groans from a lifetime away
incessantly lighting the different highway
My once happy day a dark echo behind
ahead twists and turns, strips of gray
progress now measured by lights my eyes blinding
dark thoughts do remind me of what once was you

dashed hope only breaks me, despair calls me back
I want, NO I need, my way back to that track
An intact heart wanted, missing none of the pieces
so recklessly scattered tween dry earth and dark sky
no more can I feel no more tears left to cry
the void, once heart, now ice metal and rock

uttered words without actions, haunt wind scattered breath
actions unthinking bring hammer and anguish
broken shards make like sand, Davy's lost heart
no more to find peace, cold now brings comfort
a once vibrant soul, a now windowless shell

Find me my heart so I can fly,
Find all the pieces so I can ride,
Glue every shard so I can now find
720
that exit i missed
