Next Lifetime, by Unintended Subscribe to rss feed for Unintended

Like the gift I sought,
Wrapped with a red bow
My heart was clearly caught
By this dream of a beau

But you spelt "trouble"
From the moment I saw you
All that sparkles isn't humble
Disaster was long overdue

You didn't blink
Your soul bid mine goodbye
I guess you didn't think
I'd step out of line

Your vanity said to you
That I will hold this place
In my heart forever, too
But I'm done with this chase

Waiting for you seems
Like a waste of my time
Expecting what's due to me
Only in another lifetime

We were the dream
That stole my sleep
The likely losing team

We're no future back-up plan
Despite you thinking we can
I'm off to seek another hand
