Midnight, by Markuz Subscribe to rss feed for Markuz

The moon shines brightly overhead.
It's dull brilliance flows throughout.
I can catch a glimpse in your eyes...
     ...in your smile.
And this midnight I know
I won't be alone.

With just ourselves and the moon so fine,
I find myself intoxicated by your every being.
Tonight the lake will find unrest
as our intrudence disturbs the tranquility.
And, though cold, I can feel you next to me.

A brief bacchanale, but not for long.
We surrender to slumber amongst the stars.
How beautifully the dead have come to shine!
And the wind sets the ambience
     adding mood to charm...
My place in the world is here in your arms.

Before you, tomorrow was always unsure.
Too often my love proved never enough.
How long before my heart would learn to be whole?
But I wake to the smile and grace of a friend...
...and I know what it is to be happy again.

That is so sweet. I love it.
