After The Rain, by Pocket516 Subscribe to rss feed for Pocket516

Walking down this puddled street
I glance up to the sky
Wishing that it would part
And the stars would appear
Only to see you standing in front of me
Just for an instant
That’s all I need
Rest my head on your shoulder
And feel safe again

I miss your smile
I miss your kiss
I miss your arms around me at night
What I would do for that chance now

But the road stays wet
I stay cold and soaked
For now I guess
So this is it
This is where we stand
And I accept it

2000 miles and two months away
I’ll be back soon enough
Waiting for you to meet me home
And hold me once more

But for now I’ll keep on walking
Knowing that you are waiting for me
Knowing that no sky will part for me
I’ll fight through the dreary days
Just as long as it is you and I after the rain
