Scream at that woman
Pound on the walls
All is better now
The kids curled up in balls
You hate this place so much
But only when you’re drunk
Everything is not right
The kids are a mistake
But you won’t remember anything
Will you? Will you!?

Take this place and take this life
Let it all fail him and fall to pieces
Right before his own eyes
But he can’t do anything
Except tell more lies

Children all huddled up now
Crying and praying for tomorrow
Only to here more thumps
And screaming from their mother
Just ten and twelve
But wishing life would end
To know dying a mistake
Is not hard to comprehend
Slaps, screams, and throwing things
They wonder what their future brings

Take this place and take this life
Hearts could fail them and they could fall to pieces
Right before his own eyes
But he can’t do anything
But watch as a loved one dies

Take this place and take this life
Right out from under his feet
Show him what he has done
Then leave him on the street
No room to try now
You can’t take it back
The past is long gone
And you still see nothing wrong
